@ngt,

Study Shows Illegal Black Market Sites Becoming More Advanced
https://coinreport.net/illegal-black-market-hacking/

Hacking used to be an activity that was mainly carried out by individuals working alone, but over the last 15 years the world of hacking has become more organized and reliable. In certain respects, cybercrime can be more lucrative and easier to carry out than the illegal drug trade.”

Technological advancements in digital currency has created a desire for hackers and criminals to conquer uncharted territories. The stealing of credit cards for over the past decade have shown that hackers have no intention of slowing.

36 U.S. Cities in 20 States "Abandon" the Dollar
http://moneymorning.com/ext/articles/bitcoin/36-cities-in-20-states-abandon-the-dollar.php?iris=185688
Achtung:
"Folks need to understand, this isn't just happening in America. In China they're abandoning both U.S. dollars and gold for this new form of currency. In Germany, entire towns have abandoned the EURO. So no money is sacred," Robinson warned.

BTC-e Adds the Chinese Offshore Yuan, PBOC Deadline Looming

http://cryptocrimson.com/2014/03/btc-e-adds-chinese-offshore-yuan/

What does this mean for the Chinese? To put it simply, citizens will only be able to buy bitcoin with cash, furthermore, if reports are true, it would force all Chinese exchanges to close.

There is, however; an alternative according to one Chinese analyst who spoke with Caixin:

“The only one way out for bitcoin websites is moving their servers abroad and using the service of foreign banks and payment companies,” he said.

Chinesische Wundertüte.

Was kommt demnächst aus China?

Op-ed: The legality of virtual currency

Attorney and former IRS-man explains 3 major regulations facing Bitcoin.

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/03/op-ed-the-legality-of-virtual-currency/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+arstechnica%2Findex+(Ars+Technica+-+All+content)

Conclusion

If any of this sounds disconcerting, take comfort in the fact that it disconcerts others, too (see here, here, and here). About a week ago, Jamie Dimon of J.P. Morgan Chase travelled to the New York State panel on bitcoins to voice his contempt for virtual currencies everywhere, saying they were useful only for illegality. And many more people worry that Bitcoin removes the middleman—oddly, these people usually are, like Dimon himself, the middlemen—whom they see as enforcers of safety and customer care.

This has regulators even more concerned and reluctant to promulgate regulation, fearing that if they’re too limp, they will support money laundering, another Silk Road, or a Mt. Gox. Until they act, however, they’re creating exactly the Wild West environment they fear and are further stoking those fears. So if you have any specific questions, ask an attorney. And in the meantime, let’s hope the regulators don’t, as Jamie Dimon and many banks hope, strangle this baby in its crib.

TL/DR: If you happen to be Bobby Lee then you should pay a lot of attention to what’s going on in China. For everyone else, especially long term holders, it is not necessarily relevant.

@maxmuster: also dein englisch wird immer besser.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Received_Pronunciation

It is important not to confuse the notion of Received Pronunciation – a standard accent – with the standard variety of the English language used in England that is given names such as "Standard English", "the Queen's English", "Oxford English" or "BBC English". The study of RP is concerned exclusively with pronunciation, while study of the standard language is also concerned with matters such as grammar, vocabulary and style.

Bitcoin Market Analysis: 31 March 2014

http://bitcoinreporter.com/analysis/bitcoin-market-analysis-march-31-2014

Although China is probably firmly factored in to the exchange rate and unlikely to exert any further influence, the recent IRS tax ruling, which has killed Bitcoin for use as a mainstream currency in the USA, will continue to weigh heavily on the market until and unless the IRS ruling can be modified to allow free use of Bitcoin as a currency without any tax burden, either financial or administrative. Since the IRS ruling was clearly politically motivated to protect the US Dollar, then such a ruling change will not come easily or overnight and will require heavy ongoing lobbying in Washington by the Bitcoin community - particularly by the Bitcoin Foundation if they actually justify their existence

IRS Bitcoin Ruling May Have a Bright Side

http://www.coindesk.com/irs-bitcoin-ruling-may-bright-side/

Bitcoin is legally property, says US IRS. Does that kill it as a currency?

The cryptocurrency was struck a blow by the powerful Internal Revenue Service. Is it as bad as some fear?

Second Market Bitcoin Investment Trust

Hi dblcross121, as a foreigner I ask you:Is this a final IRS decision?Could it be revised? What are the chances and the conditions for Revision? Thanks

Gerade hat er geantwortet:

The IRS Notice is not a final decision. The IRS is accepting public comment on bitcoin tax issues, which may hopefully lead to a more comprehensive and favorable set of regulations sometime in the future. But for now, the Notice is all we've got.

Der Staat will Steuern.

Quote from: segeln on March 28, 2014, 05:06:57 PM

@jl2012
do you know where SMBIT is buying and selling?
At which Exchange or OTC ?

Antwort:

Barry (Silbert,CEO)has said in interviews that they seek out early adopters and other large holders to buy from in bulk. This can likely often be done at a discount to the prevailing public market-rate.

Square’s Online Merchants Can Now Accept Bitcoin, but It Won’t Be a Bargain

http://recode.net/2014/03/31/squares-online-merchants-can-now-accept-bitcoin-but-it-wont-be-a-bargain/

Square announced on Monday that businesses that sell through the Square Market e-commerce program can accept bitcoin as payment, thanks to a partnership with bitcoin startup Coinbase. But unlike bitcoin processors that typically charge merchants one percent or less to change bitcoin into a local currency, Square is charging its merchants the 2.75 percent typical of credit card purchases, a spokeswoman said.
